At the Salon de Paris exhibition, a watercolour by Teofil Kwiatkowski was presented, featuring the drawing room in Fryderyk Chopin's last apartment in Place Vendome No. 12. An exhibition of paintings mounted at the palace of Maurycy Potocki in Warsaw included a portrait (destroyed a year later) of Fryderyk Chopin painted by Ary Schaffer (1847), the property of Izabela Barcińska, Fryderyk's younger sister.
